Boots Haul October 2014

When I found out Boots were having an event on whereby Advantage Card holders could spent £50 to earn £12 worth of points, I knew I had to take advantage of this. It was a little bit of an indulgence shopping spree as I didn't really need anything that I bought and I'm not going to lie - part of me feels as though I bought unnecessary items just to earn the extra points. However, looking at everything I bought, I am glad I did so!

The first thing on my list was a new toner. This was the one item that I bought that I actually really needed as I am running out of my current toner. I was a little disappointed at how few toners were available there, and the ones that were available all seemed to be anti-age/anti-wrinkle items, which don't really apply to 20-year-olds. In the end, I found this Clearasil Deep Cleansing Toner which is designed to tighten pores and leave clearer skin everyday. It was only £3.79, which I thought was a bargain.

The other item on my list of needed products was an evening moisturiser. I have a Garnier moisturiser that I use both morning and night, though I would like one specifically formulated for nighttime use. However, I found that almost all evening moisturisers were anti-age/anti-wrinkle products that were ideal for those aged 35-45. In the end, I left without a night moisturiser, though my eyes are still open for one!
A few months ago, I popped to Boots for the wash-out Lee Stafford 'For Hair That Never Grows Past A Certain Lengthtreatment though they were actually sold out, so I ended up buying the leave-in formula. When I went last week for the event they actually had some in stock so I picked one up for £8.49, less than the leave-in formula!

I think I am turning into a bit of a foundation lover and as such, I picked up the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation. I saw a couple of bloggers post about how much they like this product a while back so I decided to get one for myself for £10.99. I'm yet to use it, though I am quite excited to see how good it is.

I only own one true primer (plus two pore-blurring products) and I'm not a huge fan of it so I don't tend to use it that often, however I would like a little more wear out of my daily make-up so I went on the search for a primer. I ended up finding the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Base which looks so suave and sophisticated in its slim packaging and only cost £9.99.

Having heard of the Collection Lasting Perfection items but have never actually tried any of their products, I decided to bite the bullet and give it a go. I picked up the powder for £4.19 and the concealer, also for £4.19, and am excited to see how well these products work, since a lot of people rave about them and I think they are incredibly inexpensive!

Lips are my thing. I am just beginning to venture out of my comfort zone in terms of brighter/bolder lip colours but I am finding that I love lipsticks and balms and crayons (though not so much lip glosses due to their sticky nature). I was torn between all of the different brands, products and colours available and ended up swatching about twenty-five different colours on my hand before narrowing down the list to a mere two! I got the Bourjois Colour Boost in Plum Russian (£7.99) and the Rimmel Colour Me Rush in Drive Me Nude (£5.99).

The final piece of make-up I got was the Soap & Glory Peach Party Blush Brick (£11). I had swatched a beautiful light pink glow on my hand and immediately loved the product, plus I loved the actual presentation of the product. I picked up the compact behind the sample without checking what it was, and it was only when I was looking at what I had bought a couple of days later that I realised the Peach Party Blush Brick that I had picked up wasn't actually the item I had swatched and fallen in love with - the item I had swatched was the Soap & Glory Glow All Out Luminising Face Powder. However, I have decided to keep the Peach Party Blush Brick as it is still a pretty awesome powder and most people seem to love it on the reviews, I'll just have to have another trip to Boots soon to get the Glow All Out powder!

The last item I got was something I have been needing for a while. For the longest time, I have been using an angled brush for blusher and I can't say that I love it. I think a part of it may be that the brush was a fairly cheap make so the bristles aren't soft and flexible and another part of it is due to the fact that I just can't use the brush (brain block!) so I decided to get another brush for blush. Having recently fallen in infatuation with the Real Techniques brushes, I knew I could count on them not to let me down so I picked up their blush brush. I have used it since I bought it (hence the fact that the tips of the bristles are not completely white on the picture) and I adore it! I got it for £9.99 and am still on the lookout for more Real Techniques brushes as I think they are heaven!

And that is everything that I bought. There was a 3 for 2 offer on cosmetics and cosmetic accessories while I was there which meant that I actually got the L'Oreal primer, the Bourjois Lip Crayon and the Collection Lasting Perfection Powder for free!
Overall I am happy with the purchases I made, though I reckon I'll be making some more in the near future, for the correct Soap & Glory powder, maybe some more lip crayons and definitely some more Real Techniques brushes! Plus, I have a No7 Advantage Card points booster to use soon! What have you been buying recently?
